BTS fans are celebrating the news that the group will finally perform together with US singer-songwriter Charlie Puth, as the two have a bit of a history.

The two acts, superstars in their own rights, were confirmed Monday to perform at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards on Nov. 6, and fans soon erupted in excitement on Twitter.

“A stage performance collaboration between BTS and Charlie Puth. I’m so excited for tonight,” one Twitter user wrote. “A dream come true for Jungkook and BTS.”

“I’m so excited to hear that BTS and Charlie Puth are going to have a collab performance! I’m happy for jungkook,” another user wrote.

Some comments referred to the “bromance” between Jungkook and Puth, ignited after the BTS member covered one of Puth’s songs, “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

Fans from around the world expressed excitement, including those from countries like Japan and the Philippines.

Not everyone was a fan, however.

“I support BTS in their choices, bad or good, the music is always at the top.. If i say i hate it the way they are going now i might regret in the future. So yeah. Charlie Puth it is for now,” one hesitant fan wrote.

In April, media outlet Babe alleged the American singer to be a supporter of US President Donald Trump, whose policies, particularly those on immigration, have been controversial.

“I know Donald Trump says ‘China’ a lot. He’s always been like a celebrity,” Puth said about Trump when asked by Rolling Stone in 2015. “It’s probably better to never, ever talk about political things because people hate you. They’ll beat me up if I say something wrong.”
