After battling her disease for almost two years, Solji of EXID surprised fans by appearing onstage and showing her full vocal prowess Sunday.

Sunday’s episode of popular music show “King of Mask Singer” featured the EXID member, marking the singer’s first onstage performance since she declared hiatus due to her health issues in December 2016.

After performing under the nickname “Dongmakgol Girl,” Solji explained why she decided to revamp her singing career through the program.

“I’ve contemplated a lot on how I should make a return as an artist. Since I received lots of love through this program, I decided to star in the program,” Solji said.

“I took a rest for about 1 1/2 year, and it was my fans helped me back on my feet. I sincerely thank them and I will respond to their love with good songs.”

Having received surgery for exophthalmos in January, Solji also gave fans an update on her health condition.

“My hormone level is normal now. I will pay more attention to my health and I hope to give hope to other people who are suffering from health problems as well,” she added.

EXID has been promoting as a four-piece group during Solji’s hiatus, releasing retro-dance single “Lady” in March.
