It’s almost blissful that their first encounter in Seoul in May culminated in one of the most eye-popping crossover collaborations of the year.

On Friday, fans of both the “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and “New Rules” singers flocked to social media to swoon over the their first collaboration track, “Kiss and Make Up,” which was released Friday in the US.

The tune, one of three new songs from Dua’s “The Complete Edition” album, features both English and Korean lyrics, with the English singer-songwriter and K-pop act taking turns. Led by its infectious beats and tropical sound, the song talks about an attempt to salvage an ailing relationship with the line “Feel like we about to break up. Just wanna kiss and make up one last time.”

Since the song’s release, fans have been buzzing with excitement on social media, sharing photos of the two acts together and commenting on how their two unique voices blend so well on Twitter.

Some of the tweets read, “Even tho Lisa’s part was the shortest but she really killed it, her voice was sooo deep in this song,” “Dua‘s voice is so strong and powerful. Glad they gave the Black Pink good proportional line and part, so their voices are shining and great in this song” and “After hearing this for the first time, I guarantee you that it’s now stuck in my mind.”

The collaboration was forged at the request of Dua Lipa, Black Pink’s agency YG Entertainment said.

The two acts first met when Black Pink attended the “New Rules” singer’s concert in Seoul in May. The English singer had also expressed her affection for the group in a previous interview, saying, “I love Black Pink. I met the girls at my show in Seoul. They said online that they liked my songs. I heard about them from my fans on Twitter and when I met them, they were lovely. I had written this song, ‘Kiss and Makeup,’ with my friend Chelcee Grimes and two producers Banx & Ranx, and I’m very happy I’ve found a home for it with Black Pink.”

Black Pink is set to hold its first concerts at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul on Nov. 10-11.
