[V Report] Upcoming this week: Lay, Jeong Eun-ji, Crush

The Korea Herald has rounded up reports on three upcoming releases this week, trailers of which were unveiled on Naver’s V Live.

EXO Lay’s “NAMANANA”

Lay of EXO is venturing into the American music scene.

S.M. Entertainment, which represents the artist, announced on Sept. 21 that Lay is releasing his third album, “NAMANANA,” in the US on Friday.

As the boy band’s only Chinese member, Lay is releasing the upcoming album bilingually in Chinese and English. The album comprises 11 Chinese original tracks and their English versions, for a total of 22 tracks.

Lay participated in the production process of all of the tracks listed in the album.

S.M. Entertainment said that Lay’s new album will be a chance to popularize “Mandarin pop music.”

Apink Jeong Eun-ji’s “Hyehwa”

Jeong Eun-ji of Apink is coming back with her third EP, “Hyehwa,” Friday.

The Apink vocalist showcased the upcoming EP’s lead track live at her solo concerts held Saturday and Sunday.

“I was kind of nervous and thrilled to showcase the song before its official release at this concert,” Jeong told the audience.

In the teaser released Monday, Jeong admires the fall foliage filled with red and yellow leaves.

Jeong is often referred to as Apink’s strongest vocalist.

Crush’s “none”

Crush is releasing the new single “none” on Wednesday, a teaser for which was unveiled on V Live on Monday.

The song’s title “none” is a play on words, as the pronunciation in Korean can also mean “you are.”

Crush’s past two releases this year, single “Bittersweet” and EP “wonderlost,” have both been successes on music charts.

The upcoming single will be available on streaming websites including Melon, Genie and Naver Music at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The rhythm and blues singer is scheduled to hold two days of concerts from Nov. 3 to 4 titled “Crush on You Tour ‘Wonderlost.’”
