For those who have been wandering about his whereabouts, Ok Taecyeon made an appearance at a recent Armed Forces Day event.

On Monday, the 2PM member attended the event held by the Korean War Memorial at the Plaza of Peace to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Korea’s Armed Forces Day.

Clad in combat uniform, Ok led the demonstration of a future combat implementation system, which included high-tech equipment such as the Army’s warrior platform, dronebots and unmanned battle machines of the Navy and Air Force.

Ok was later spotted shaking hands with South Korean President Moon Jae-jin, as well as greeting Psy, who performed at the event.

According to a source from the event, the singer was recommended to participate in the annual military event for faithfully carrying out his military duties, adding that he gave up his American residency and chose to enlist in the military. He had received back surgery and had been eligible for alternative service, but chose to carry out active duty instead, the source said.

Ok said, “As I wanted to be helpful to the national event, I worked and practiced hard with officers from other camps. I hope I can be of help in promoting people of the warrior platform, which will be
integrated by the armed forces. It was my great honor to be involved in such a meaningful moment and I will do my best throughout the rest of my military service.”

Ok currently serves as an assistant instructor at the White Horse (9th Division) Recruit Training Center. He is set to be discharged in June next year. .
