Singer IU celebrated her 10th anniversary in the public eye in a meaningful way by making a generous donation to help children in need.

It was reported Tuesday that IU and her fan club, UAENA, had made a joint donation of 100 million won ($88,854) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. The money will be used to provide scholarships for children from low-income families and other support for disadvantaged people in Korea, the organization said.

The singer has a long history of philanthropy, having donated 100 million won to the organization in 2015 and made subsequent donations of 200 million won and 5 million won since that time, a portion of which will help elderly people living with hearing disabilities.

IU, who debuted in 2008, has released chart-sweeping songs including “Good Day,” “You & I” and “The Red Shoes.” She has made a name for herself as an actress as well, with roles in such dramas as
“My Mister,” “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and “The Producers.”

As one of Korea’s most prominent soloists, IU is set to tour seven cities in Asia from October through December to celebrate her 10th anniversary.
