The media outlet reported that the head of BTS’ agency, Bang Shi-hyuk, had brought about the collaboration. Bang was reportedly in contact with Akimoto as he admires the well-known producer’s world view.

BTS released the repackaged EP “Love Yourself-Answer” on Aug. 24, fronted by the megahit track “Idol,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was the second EP by BTS to rank first on the US music chart.

The group is currently on its world tour, “2018 BTS World Tour Love Yourself,” which will visit over a dozen cities in North America as well as London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
