Singer Kang Sung-hoon of Sechs Kies has apologized amid a scandal surrounding the handling of a fan event and dating rumors involving the leader of his fan club.
In a statement released on the official website of his fan club Hoony World late Tuesday night, the singer said, “I sincerely apologize to the fans of Sechs Kies and Hoony World who have been by my side and showed support and trust in me for a long time.”
“I’m deeply sorry and hurt that my carelessness has caused harm to my team and fans,” Kang added.

The singer’s apology comes just days after Shin found himself at the center of a number of scandals related to alleged embezzlement of fan club funds, the cancellation of a fan meeting in Taiwan and dating rumors with the leader of his fan club.
In a statement earlier this week, the singer denied the dating rumors, saying there was no need to elaborate further as it was “not even worth talking about.”
