New season of ‘Show Me the Money’ airs first episode

The seventh season of the rap competition show “Show Me the Money” aired its first episode Friday to the delight of hip-hop fans in Korea.

“Show Me the Money 777” has returned with some noticeable changes. Unlike previous seasons that had massive preliminary rounds, the latest season has recruited contestants and selected 140 of them to be on the show.

In addition, the cash prize has doubled to 200 million won ($177,490).

The new season also features underground hip-hop veterans such as nafla and Loopy of MKIT RAIN, Kid Milli of Indigo Music and ph-1 of H1GHER MUSIC.

New rappers were also among the selected contestants, including 15-year-old rappers D.Ark and Choi Eun-seo.

Many viewers are looking forward to new tracks from “Show Me the Money,” as the show has produced tracks that sweep online music charts every year.
