Girls’ Generation and Sunmi vie for No. 1 spot

Girls’ Generation and Sunmi are both vying for the No. 1 spot as the two appear neck and neck on the music charts.

Girls’ Generation’s five-piece subunit Oh!GG released their comeback single “Lil’ Touch Wednesday night, instantly topping the singles chart on streaming sites Bugs, Mnet and Soribada.

Sunmi’s new single “Siren” which was released the day before, shows no sign of backing off, as the singer’s new single has managed to hold onto the top spot on the Melon and Naver Music charts as of Thursday morning.

Both Girls’ Generation and Sunmi debuted in 2007, with the later as a member of Wonder girls. The two’s similarities do not end there as both “Lil’ Touch” and “Siren” are their comeback singles after months away from the music scene.

The video for Sunmi’s new single has been watched over 4.8 million times as of Wednesday, while the video for “Lil’ Touch” has had over 6.9 million views.
