Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation is one of the most versatile members in the group who never shows sign of slowing down. Back in April, she embarked on the second phase of her career by transforming into a DJ under the moniker DJ Hyo and released her first solo album “Sober.”

And in a recent interview with a local magazine, the singer shared a secret to her longevity in the K-pop scene which spans more than a decade.

“I don’t feel burdened with public’s interest as time goes by. On the contrary, I enjoy sharing what I like with people, also getting more responsible for my life and stay out of troubles,” she said.

“I think enduring the seven years of trainee life has enabled me to keep going. That time, during which I focused solely on myself, made that 10 years as a Girls’ Generation member.”




In the accompanying photoshoots, Hyoyeon cuts a stylish figure by sporting various yellow and gold tinged outfits and accessories that go well in her blonde hair.

The group’s dancer and vocalist also talked about her newfound talent as a DJ.

“I’ve come a long way to find my character. I’ve been known for my dancing skill and my care-free personality in the group, but what I wanted to show more was my identity as ‘Hyoyeon.’ The feedbacks I receive from people during my DJ activities make me a deeper and denser person,” she added.

Hyoyeon is gearing up for a return as a Girls’ Generation unit Oh!GG on Sept. 5.
