Minnie of (G)I-DLE is the group’s only Thai member and one of K-pop’s few Thai stars, alongside Black Pink’s Lisa and CLC’s Sorn, with whom she has formed close ties.

K-pop has long adopted multinational figures into its inner circle, but most have originated from neighboring Japan or China.

Nickhun of 2PM is another prominent Thai K-pop personality.

Having debuted on May 2 as Cube Entertainment’s latest act, (G)I-DLE is arguably one of the newest in the music scene, having earned both public and critical acclaim with its self-composed debut single “LATATA.”
