American actress Megan Fox will star opposite actor Kim Myung-min in director Kwak Kyung-taek’s new war film “Jangsa-ri 9.15.”

The Hollywood actress, who was propelled to stardom after appearing in “Transformer” films, will play a leading role in the blockbuster Korean film about a military operation during the Korean War.

“Jangsa-ri 9.15” (working title) will center on the Jangsa landing operation under Gen. Douglas MacArthur, which served as a crucial step in the Battle of Inchon.

Fox will play a war correspondent from the New York Herald Tribune, Marguerite Higgins, who played a role in shedding light on the Korean War and calling for aid on the world stage.

The actress reportedly showed strong interest in the role and plans on studying Higgins through documentaries to better understand her character.

The film is scheduled to open next year.
