Producer and rapper Zico’s new single “SoulMate” is dominating multiple online music charts.

The song featuring singer IU rose to the top of music charts just hours after it was released Monday night, including Bugs, Genie Music, Melon and Mnet, laying the groundwork for the album’s long-term commercial success.

The single looks set to continue its reign atop the charts for some time, as it shows no sign of stepping down from the top spot anytime soon, leaving a huge gap with the other top five songs on the Genie Chart.

The new soulful R&B song is filled with acoustic instruments such as a trumpet, a saxophone and a trombone, presenting a vintage and analogue vibe.

Critics have said that the chemistry between Zico and IU’s voices also helped boost the song’s success.

The singer’s agency Seven Seasons released images of Zico and IU on its social media account Monday, depicting the two artists in a fairytale-like flower-filled room, falling in line with the song’s main theme of “soul mates.”
