Lee Yeon-hee said she recently had a rough patch in her acting career.

The Monday episode of travel variety show “Island Trio 2” featured Lee talking about how she hit her low point as an actress and overcame it with the help of people around her.

As Kang Ho-dong, another cast of the program, jokingly asked her when she first noticed her own good looks, Lee said, “I didn’t even have such thought in my mind. Actually, I realized that this job suited me only recently. I had a pretty long rough patch, during which I questioned my talent.”

“But on second thought, there were people who sought and called me. It made me think that I could continue this job,” she added.

“Island Trio” shows the cast traveling to various islands and learning to live with the native inhabitants there.

Lee, who began her acting career by starring in music videos for artists like TVXQ, Moon Hee-jun, Shinhwa and Fly to the Sky, is best known for her role in the 2008 drama series “East of Eden.” Although her acting has often been criticized, she saw her career take off in the romantic comedy flick “Marriage Blue” in 2013 and “Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island” in 2015.
