Cheng Xiao of girl group WJSN communicated with her fans while eating ice cream in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Tuesday.

“Don’t you think eating ice cream is the happiest thing to do when the summer is coming?” she said starting up the broadcast. “Well, (for me) meeting you on V app broadcast is the happiest thing.”

In the broadcast, the Chinese singer revealed that she recently visited her family.

“I’ve been to my hometown Shenzhen recently,” she said. “There were times that I visited China for our promotion schedule but we rarely visit my hometown but this time, luckily the show was filmed in my hometown so I visited my home.”

“I met my parents and my sister. I also found my best friends from middle school came back home for the vacation. I was glad that I was lucky enough to meet them,” she said.

However, the singer said she had now got more used to the Korean weather.

“Shenzhen is a hot region -- it is way hotter than Korea. It’s about 38, 39 degrees Celsius now,” she said. “(But) as I spent (several) years in Korea, I got used to the weather here. I was surprised that it was so hot in my hometown as I went back home after a long time.”

The 13-member act, also widely known as Cosmic Girls, debuted in 2016 with its first EP “Would You Like?”

Yubin, of now-disbanded girl group Wonder Girls, revealed the three cities she loves the most in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Tuesday.

On the day, she released her debut EP as solo singer “City Woman” fronted by the lead track “Lady.”

“When talking about cities, I think Seoul cannot be missed. It is the city where variety coexists and which has great night views. The image of the city in early summer fits best with Seoul,” she said in the broadcast.

“Seoul is my favorite city. I’ve visited many cities on my singer career but my country’s Seoul was the most beautiful.”

“My second favorite city is Gwangju because it’s my hometown,” she said. “Then the third favorite is San Jose (in California, US). I used to live there too.”

Girl group fromis_9 released its second mini album “To. Day” the showcase event of which was live broadcast via Naver’s V app Tuesday.

During the event, the fromis_9 bandmates expressed their devotion to the new album.

“It’s the album that came after the debut album. As we thought we have to show an improvement, we talked a lot and practiced hard. We also practiced our facial expressions (for the performance),” Song Ha-young said.

“I had been striving to the preparation of the new album,” Lee Na-gyung said. “I spent my time only on practicing while sometimes I tried to stay in shape and lose some weight.”

When asked how she managed her fitness, she said, “We can definitely work out in our practicing room. We exercise together and also try to tone up our stomachs.”

When asked about her goal, Park Ji-won said, “We are newcomers at the field. I wish to let many people know about us through the promotion of this album.”

“As a bigger goal, I wish to receive a Rookie of the Year award in the end of year awards,” she added.

Having debuted in January, the K-pop group consists of the nine winners -- Lee Sae-rom, Song Ha-young, Jang Gyu-ri, Park Ji-won, Roh Ji-sun, Lee Seo-yeon, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung and Baek Ji-heon -- of Mnet’s audition program “Idol School,” which aired from July to September last year.

The show created a fictional school where the main goal was to provide education and training needed to become an idol singer. The name “fromis_9” itself is an abbreviated form of “Nine From Idol School.”

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
