Singer Sunmi prepared a special event for fans in celebration of Coming-of-Age Day, showed a V app video Friday.

“I’m heading to a department store to keep a promise for Coming-of-Age Day,” she said at the beginning of the video.

“I hoped I could do this for all of you fans but I will reward you by making my next album really good instead so I hope you will understand that this is for the young kids who became adults this year,” the singer said.

“They are about to come out into the world so I wish I could support them a bit at least. It’s not a big thing but it is a way of expressing my hope,” she said.

In Korea, people celebrate Coming-of-Age Day on the third Monday of May. It is held to congratulate and encourage those who have reached and will reach the age of 19 that year.

The video showed the singer buying gifts to give to fans who had newly become adults and packaging them in a car.

“Everyone, I did this myself! Please understand even if it is clumsy,” she said.

During the broadcast, they answered fans’ questions, showed their specialties to fans and fanatically danced to hit tracks from the 1990s.

The Black6ix bandmates also revealed their plan to release their next EP and asked fans to look forward to it, saying that it would be “awesome”

The group debuted in April last year with the single “Please.” It consists of Yey, Taeyoung, The-King, Jongwoon, Ziki and Yongseok.

Lee Jae-joon of K-pop rookie boy band Trei communicated with fans in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Friday.

When asked about the moment they felt most proud while starring on JTBC’s talent competition show “Mix Nine,” Lee said, “(I felt most proud) during the final performance.”

“From the very beginning when (producer Yang Hyun-suk) toured around entertainment agencies around the country, I was really desperate (to debut),” he said.

“So I felt most proud when I performed during the final performance and I was encouraged when the fans supported me,” he said. “I guess I could finish the audition show well thanks to fans’ support. I want to thank you again.”

Asked whether he still keeps in contact with other trainees who starred on the JTBC show, he said, “I do. When we released ‘NIKE,’ Wyatt of (boy band) ON/OFF congratulated me.”

The JTBC show featured Yang, CEO of YG Entertainment, visiting entertainment agencies around the country to look for new talent.

Four hundred participants competed to secure a seat in two nine-member groups -- one girl group and one boy band -- which later competed against each other to decide the final group to debut. The expected debut, however, has faced a setback, YG Entertainment announced on May 3.

Boy band Trei consists of Kim Jun-tae, Lee Jae-joon and Chae Chang-hyun. It released its pre-debut single “NIKE” on May 17.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
