Boy band T.E.N said Monday that it has banded together as one with music and dance, debuting on the K-pop scene as the first collaboration group between South Korea and China.

The ten-member group is a project idol group between Rion Five, a seven-member South Korean boy group that debuted in 2014, and three Chinese singers. T.E.N is now jointly managed by two South Korea management agencies and one Chinese company, Ideal Media Group.

On Monday, the project group put on a showcase of their first single, "Haeyo Haeyo," which was put up for streaming at major online music stores last Friday.

The song is electronic dance music weaved with piano and rhythmic house beats, with an "addictive" refrain, according to the South Korean agency Narda Entertainment.

With the debut, the boy band will start their music career both in South Korea and China, an official at the agency said.

T.E.N members said that at the outset they faced difficulties due to a language barrier between the Korean and Chinese members. "But with music and dance, we banded together as one. That made me very happy," Chinese member Joss Cheng said on the sidelines of the showcase.

Asked to characterize the band in one expression, the members said "distinction," "individuality," "globalization" and "South Korea-China collaboration."

"As the first-ever collaboration group between South Korea and China, we want to throw a lot of performances both here and in China to please and satisfy audiences in both countries," member Yousung said. (Yonhap)
