Infinite’s Sungkyu enlisted in the army on Monday. After basic training, he will serve as an active soldier for the mandatory period required of all able-bodied Korean men.

Previous to his enlistment, the online public had dug up an old “Radio Star” episode aired in 2015 where Sungkyu boasted of his close friendship with Park Shin-hye.

Sungkyu and Park are the same age, and both are close with Super Junior singer Kim Hee-chul.

Sungkyu had shared on his social media accounts the photos taken together with Park and Kim. The three of them were having cooked lamb intestines.

In the “Radio Star” program, Sungkyu said, “Shin-hye’s mother runs a lamb intestines restaurant. Shin-hye could drink more soju than I imagined. She’s got a very friendly personality.”

Whether or not Park will visit Sungkyu during his military term is unclear.
