Eunjin of DIA withdrew from the group due to health issues.

The singer broke the news through a lengthy handwritten letter she posted on her fan site on Monday.

“Actually, I have not been feeling well since last year. Some days were fine, but there have been days when I couldn’t leave the dorm all day,” she wrote. She credited her bandmates for helping her to continue and said, “It was hard to ward off pressure and fear of being onstage, the reason why I wasn’t able to show the best side of myself and even disappointed you.”

In April last year, Eunjin was embroiled in an attitude controversy during DIA’s fan showcase for the act’s second full length album “YOLO.” She was spotted standing still onstage with a stiff expression and eventually left the stage without any explanation. The members later said that she had to go to the hospital for breathing difficulties. She has not participated in the group‘s activities since.

In the letter, Eunjin revealed that she has been receiving treatment but still has health problems.

“At this moment when DIA is gearing up for a comeback, I made the difficult decision to leave the group as I thought I was getting in the members’ way and unable to help them. This is my last goodbye as DIA’s Eunjin, but I will cheer on our members as a fan who loves DIA the most, and return to my ordinary life as a 20-something and live well,” she added.

Earlier in March, DIA said that it had teamed up hit producer Shinsadong Tiger for its comeback, while the exact date is yet to be revealed.
