KBS programs scoop up five prizes at New York TV awards

South Korea's largest public broadcaster KBS said Wednesday its television programs have won five awards at the 2018 New York Festivals Television & Film Awards.

The network's "Journey on Foot -- Goodbye, My Girlhood" and "'Baby Box,' Story of Deserted Infants" picked up the Gold World Medal in the documentary/human concerns and the documentary/current affairs categories, respectively, during the awards ceremony at Las Vegas on Tuesday (local time).

KBS also received the Silver World Medal in the drama special category for the short drama "A Summer Walk" and the Silver World Medal in the Station/Image Promotion section for "Listen to Hearts Campaign 'Korean People Archive.'"

"'2017 Presidential Election,' Graphic Design Scheme for Election Day and Night Live and related TV Programs" took home the Bronze World Medal in the Best Graphic Design.

Launched in 1957, the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards competition honors programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries. (Yonhap)
