Seohyun of Girls’ Generation appeared on local TV and revealed behind-the-scenes stories of what happened during this week’s performance in Pyongyang by a South Korean art troupe.

“I felt an array of emotions. I looked at the audience as we (the singers) were singing together, and I saw tears in their eyes. So I cried as well,” she said. “They were applauding throughout the entire performance, and it felt sincere.”

She also shared how she was welcomed by North Korean singer Song Yeong, who had hugged her and pledged they would meet again when they performed together during the North Korean art troupe’s concert in Seoul in February.

“We said to each other ‘let’s meet again.’ I never imagined we would meet each other this soon,” Seohyun said, adding that the Pyongyang performance was a “gift that she would never forget.”

The concerts by the 160-member South Korean art troupe were held on Sunday and Tuesday, and were broadcast here Thursday evening. Eleven South Korean acts, including Red Velvet, Cho Yong-pil, YB, Baek Ji-young and Lee Sun-hee, participated in the performances.
