Lee Tae-im is three months pregnant, according to her agency Management Henem, following an announcement earlier this week that she would be leaving acting.

On Monday, the actress said in an Instagram post that she was ending her acting career.

“Going through difficulties with many thoughts and pain, I decided to live a normal life,” she wrote. Following her post, rumors circulated that her retirement was related to a son of ex-President Lee Myung-bak.

Lee Tae-im was not available for comment after announcing her retirement.

On Wednesday, her agency confirmed that Lee had decided to leave showbiz as she is pregnant and plans to wed her boyfriend after giving birth.

“She met her future husband at the end of last year, and he is an M&A businessman older than her,” said the agency.

Lee had disappeared from the public eye after a video of her using vulgar language in an argument with Yewon of K-pop act Jewelry was leaked in 2015.

But she returned to the small screen last summer with the hit drama series “Women of Dignity” on JTBC, after a two-year break.

Lee has reportedly terminated her contract with the agency and paid a penalty fee for leaving before the end of her contract.
