Actor Ryu Jun-yeol will be featured on the cover of Allure Korea’s April issue, as part of the magazine’s annual special edition dedicated to an eco-friendly campaign.

As a supporter of Seoul Greenpeace, Ryu has been promoting the need to protect the environment. “Anyone can do it if they start to pay attention,” said Ryu whose interest in environmental conservation was sparked by a trip to Africa.

“It will be difficult to not use plastics at all, but it’s easy to not use microplastics, which cause severe pollution in the ocean. I want to make contributions through such a process,” Ryu added in an interview with the magazine.

He also revealed his experience of being on board “Rainbow Warrior,” Greenpeace’s ship for environmental campaigns. Ryu was then the first Asian entertainer to be on the ship.

After finishing basic training on the ship, he realized how one’s actions could become an act of violence to someone else. Ryu hopes to continue his activities to protect the environment.
