Actress Shin Hye-sun will reunite with actor Lee Jong-suk in SBS’ upcoming two-part series “In Praise of Death”

According to Shin’s agency YNK Entertainment on Thursday, the actress will play the female lead Yun Sim-deok in the show.

The title of the drama comes from that of a song released by Korea’s first famed soprano, Yun Sim-deok, in 1926. The story of her life, which ended when she and her lover jumped from a ship crossing the Korea Strait, has inspired musicals and films, including a 1991 movie of the same title. The upcoming series will follow the tragic love story between Yun and playwright Kim Woo-jin, played by Lee. It will shed more light on Kim’s story.

Lee and Shin worked together for the drama “School 2013” in 2012, through which Shin made her acting debut.

She has starred in films and dramas, such as “Angel Eyes,” “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” and most recently, “My Golden Life.”

Filming of the new series begins in mid-April.
