More than 200,000 copies of K-pop act NCT's new album have been pre-ordered, the group's agency said Wednesday.

S.M. Entertainment said the pre-orders for the record "NCT 2018 Empathy" tallied 202,530 as of Wednesday morning. The album will be released later Wednesday, followed by a mini concert at Korea University in the evening.

NCT, an acronym for "Neo Culture Technology," is S.M. Entertainment's idol band project that houses multiple teams under the NCT brand. Currently, three Korean teams -- NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream -- have been formed under the NCT umbrella.

The three NCT acts, comprised of a total of 18 members, have collaborated in creating the album. (Yonhap)
