Popular K-pop boy band Super Junior will release new songs in a repackaged album next month, the group's management agency said Wednesday.

The new release will be the repackaged edition of the group's eighth full-length album "Play," which was released in November, Label SJ, affiliated with the S.M. Entertainment, said without giving the date of the group's return.

Choi Siwon, the member who is taking time for self-reflection after a fatal incident involving his family's pet dog, will take part in the new album, according to the company.

He has been absent from the group's broadcasting activities for the eighth album since a restaurateur neighbor of his died from sepsis after being bitten by the singer's family French bulldog in late September. Choi and his family have come under public criticism for failing to properly restrain the dog.

"Since Choi was part of the eighth album, he participated in the production of the album's repackaged edition, too," a Label SJ official said. "It has not been decided whether he will take part in music broadcasting programs or other promotional activities for the new album." (Yonhap)
