SBS’s new TV series “Should We Kiss First?” about romance and commitment in middle age got off to a good start, data showed Tuesday.

The Mon-Tue drama, which premiered on Feb. 20, made its first entry to rank second on the Content Power Index for Feb.19-25, with a score of 235.4.

Starring Kam Woo-sung and Kim Sun-a, the new series is about a passionate romance between Son Moo-han, played by Kam, who was once a hotshot copywriter and now works at a leading advertising firm as a production manager, and An Soon-jin, played by Kim, a divorced flight attendant who is struggling to pay off debt left by her ex-husband.

Meanwhile, MBC’s popular variety show “Infinite Challenge” topped the chart with 261.1.

The program was put under the spotlight recently as the news broke that its producer Kim Tae-ho would leave the program soon despite opposition from the cast members. Kim has been directing arguably the country’s most popular and successful variety show since the show started in 2006.

The network said last month that it would revamp the popular variety program this month in line with its spring season program restructuring.

The index, created by CJ E&M and Nielsen Korea, measures the level of popularity and influence on consumer behavior of all entertainment TV programs aired on major terrestrial networks and cable channels during prime time. (Yonhap)
