Singers managed by S.M. Entertainment supported BoA, who is also signed to the agency, in phone calls during a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

The live broadcast was held to promote BoA’s upcoming mini album “One Shot Two Shot.” It was the singer’s first-ever live broadcast on the real-time broadcasting platform.

In the broadcast, BoA made phone calls to Seulgi of girl group Red Velvet, Xiumin of EXO and Key of SHINee.

“I’m watching the broadcast too. You’re good at it,” Seulgi said. “You can get closer to your fans while sharing your everyday life. It’s good if you hold the broadcasts often.”

“It’s hectic. It is very difficult to do it alone,” BoA replied.

“You are the pride of (our label). You are one of the artists who I expect would fulfill expectations,” Xiumin said. “I will go if you hold concerts. Go for it BoA!”

On the phone call with Key, who also appeared on BoA’s recent reality show “Keyword #BoA,” BoA asked him whether he did well on his concert.

“I’m taking a rest after the concert,” he replied. “I am proud of you. Well done!” BoA said.

The new album will consist of seven songs including its lead track “One Shot, Two Shot” and “Nega Dola.”

BoA’s new songs will be dropped on local music websites at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20. The physical albums are to go on sale the next day.

NCT U

Boy band NCT U celebrated its bandmate Jungwoo’s birthday in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

“It’s my 21st birthday. Thank you,” Jungwoo said when his bandmate brought up the issue. “I think the most meaningful birthday gift is the music video. There’s nothing better than that. It’s the best gift on my 2018 birthday.”

The group released the music video for “Boss,” a track from project album “NCT 2018,” which is set to be released in March.

NCT 2018 consists of NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and three new members: Jungwoo, Lucas and Kun.

NCT U will perform “Boss” for the first time on Mnet’s live music show “M Countdown” on Thursday.

Kriesha Chu

Filipino-American singer Kriesha Chu tried jegichagi (a Korean version of hacky sack) in a video released on Naver’s V app Monday.

Jegichagi is a Korean traditional game in which players try to hit a shuttlecock called a jegi with their feet.

On her first try, she failed to keep the jegi in the air for a single kick. She asked the videographer to edit out the scene but instead, the videographer wrote in the subtitle, “Nope, I didn’t edit it out.”

She kept trying the game but she could not hit the jegi more than once.

Then she found that the act of hitting a jegi was somewhat similar to the choreography of her recent song “Sunset Dream.”

With the help of the choreography, she succeeded in keeping the jegi up for four kicks.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
