Son Na-eun of Apink communicated with fans while having brunch in New York in a live broadcast, via Naver’s V app Tuesday.

The singer appeared in the broadcast in a casual outfit wearing sunglasses and no makeup. She had various pancakes and salad spread before her.

Watching her eat, a fan commented simply: “Hungry.”

“You’re hungry? It’s 10 p.m. in Korea. You should not eat at that time. You’ll gain weight,” Son teased.

In the broadcast, she also talked about her birthday that lasted 48 hours.

“In Korea, I was congratulated by fans and blew out the candles on my birthday cake. Then the next day I came to New York right away and it was Feb. 12 again. So I had a two-day birthday,” she said.

However, her happy birthday was soon frustrated after photos she posted on her Instagram account were caught up in a feminism controversy.

Son uploaded photos from the brunch restaurant on the photo-sharing platform, leading to some being offended by Son’s smartphone case in the photo, which read “Girls can do anything.”

The phrase came under attack, with many asking the singer if she is a feminist in the comments. She eventually deleted the photos.
