Murder-mystery thriller 'Return' enters weekly TV chart

SBS TV's series "Return" ranked second on the weekly TV ratings chart on its entry into the index following its premiere two weeks ago, data showed Tuesday.

The 32-episode crime thriller centering on the four suspects of a murder case and those trying to find the truth garnered a score of 254.9 on the Content Power Index (CPI) for Jan. 15-21.

Actress Go Hyun-jung plays lawyer Choi Ja-hye, who works on the perplexing case at the request of a law school friend whose husband is implicated. Actor Lee Jin-wook takes the role of detective Dokgo Young. Four actors -- Shin Sung-rok, Bong Tae-kyu, Yoon Jong-hun and Park Ki-woong, who plays the prime suspect -- form a kind of "axis of evil" who do everything to cover up the truth about the murder.

For the latest episode, aired Thursday, the series recorded 15.2 percent in viewership ratings, the highest among the programs broadcast in the same time slot, according to Nielsen Korea.

Meanwhile, "Prison Playbook," which aired Nov. 22-Jan. 18 on tvN, topped the chart with a score of 255.5.

The index, created by CJ E&M and Nielsen Korea, measures the level of popularity and influence on consumer behavior of all entertainment TV programs aired on major terrestrial networks and cable channels during prime time. (Yonhap)
