Red Velvet

Red Velvet held a fan event dubbed “Perfect Red Velvet Night” on Monday, walking down memory lane and sharing details of its latest single “Bad Boy.”

The event broadcast on the Naver V app featured the four members recalling the group’s early days by using certain numbers to mark different milestones. Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation hosted the show.
With the number 28, Irene said, “I thought it was my age, but I think it’s the total number of our Naver V app broadcasts. I hope we can do more this year.”

The group also said “15” was the number of trophies it had won on music shows with hits such as “Rookie,” “Red Flavor” and “Peekaboo.”

Joy also shared her thoughts, saying, “I’ve been working very hard lately, but I still have a lot of concerns as I want to make everything perfect.”

Red Velvet also held a surprise event for fans by awarding fans who had made the most impressive cover videos or reaction videos for the group’s songs.

The group’s latest repackaged album “The Perfect Velvet” topped local music charts upon its release on Monday evening.

‘Radio Romance’ actors

Cast members of “Radio Romance,” a new romance drama on KBS2, greeted fans via the Naver V app and shared how they had felt so nervous before the first episode.

“It’s my first time doing something like this broadcast. It’s fresh,” Yoon Doo-joon. His co-star Kim So-hyun also said, “It’s quite trustworthy to be with our co-actors.”

Yoon Park, who has returned to the small screen after two years, and Yura of Girl’s Day also shared that they felt nervous and excited about the new drama.

Yoon Doo-joon will play Ji Soo-ho, a superstar who always has to make plans, but ends up as a DJ for a live radio show where things do not usually happen as planned.

“My role is different from Dok Go-jin from ‘The Greatest Love’ or Chun Song-yi from ‘My Love from the Star.’ First of all, he has a different name, and has more pitiful sides.

Kim said that she hopes to convey a 20-year-old’s fresh and perky energy in the drama.

‘Gate’ actors

The cast of upcoming comedy film “Gate” -- Im Chang-jung, Jung Rye-won, Jung Sang-hoon and Kim Do-hoon -- took to the Naver V app to promote the movie Monday.

Shot without scripts, they started explaining the movie’s plot.

As Im dragged on for more than five minutes, Jung jokingly said, “Many of our fans have already seen the movie. Please don’t spoil it. Are you shooting a movie program or something?”

The actors also responded to viewers’ questions about their diet and drinking habits.

Im said that Jung doesn’t have diet plans as she doesn’t gain weight no matter how much she eats.

“If you want to lose weight, think a lot and move your body a lot. Look at me, I’ve been living without any thoughts, and I gained 12 kilograms,” he added.

Moving on to the topic of drinking, Im shared that he had once chugged a pack of soju to relax before going onstage, but ended up forgetting a song’s lyrics.

The crime comedy film will hit local theaters in February.
