Solo singer Sunmi opened up about the inspiration behind her new track “Heroine.”

At a photo shoot with local fashion magazine Elle Korea for its February issue, Sunmi talked about how she wrote the lyrics for “Heroine.”

“It’s not from my experience, but I was inspired by the film ‘9 1/2 Weeks,’” she said. “Thinking about the film, I wrote phrases like ‘You make me dance and feel drunk without alcohol.”

She added, “I would like to be recognized with just the name ‘Sunmi.’ It’s a goal for my whole career, not just ‘Heroine.’”
