Behind-the-scenes footage for IU’s “Palette” concert in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, held last December, was released via Naver’s V app Monday.

At the beginning of the video, IU appeared in front of the camera without makeup, announcing, “I’m totally without makeup today.”

“I didn’t even have dinner last night. You know it’s so upsetting when your face gets swollen even though you didn’t have dinner the day before,” she said.

In the video, the singer was seen rehearsing for the concert, performing on stage and expressing her thoughts after the concert.

By the end of the concert, before she sang for a second encore, she said, “When I do the second encore, I feel so grateful. Though I feel so grateful, you know (I hope for) you teenagers go home after 9:45 p.m.”

“The night journey is dangerous and this venue is on the outskirts of town,” she said. When a fan shouted they would be fine, she replied, “No! Not fine! I am not fine.”

“Also your parents will be waiting for you teenagers. So you promise me when the clock hits 9:45 p.m., you stand up (and go home), OK?” she asked her younger fans.

After the last performance, teenage fans indeed stood up to head home. For departing fans, she sang “Auld Lang Syne.”

“They are so beautiful! I feel touched to see the teenagers leave voluntarily. I think fans here are so nice,” she said.
