Local fantasy blockbuster "Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds" has amassed more than 1 million moviegoers until Friday, only two days after it was released in theaters, data showed.

The Lotte Entertainment release recorded 1,000,505 in the cumulative number of views as of 1 p.m., the real-time based box office figures from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) said.

Its rival "Steel Rain" from Next Entertainment World also topped 1 million in attendance only two days after it opened on Dec. 14.

The first installment of a two-part series based on a famous webtoon of the same title by Joo Ho-min, "Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds" is about a man who is judged in seven hells for 49 days after death, guided by three grim reapers. It was directed by Kim Yong-hwa of "200 Pound Beauty," "Mr. Go" and "Take Off" and stars Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon and Kim Hyang-gi. (Yonhap)
