Family, friends and colleagues of the late actor Kim Joo-hyuk gathered at a Catholic church in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul to hold a memorial mass on Sunday, 49 days after Kim’s passing.

Two days before the memorial mass on Friday, Kim’s agency had expressed their wishes of “keeping the event private in order to mourn, cherish past memories and pray for his peaceful rest.”

Co-stars from KBS 2TV’s “Happy Sunday-2 Days & 1 Night” attended the memorial mass. A production employee of “2 Days & 1 Night” confirmed that they will not be shooting for the show.

The veteran actor passed away unexpectedly after a fatal car accident on Oct. 30. An autopsy by the National Forensic Service revealed the cause of Kim’s death to be a fatal head injury. The toxicology report for Kim did not identify any abnormalities.

It is said the police are still investigating the possibility of faulty vehicular function, using the late actor’s vehicle black box for video analysis.
