Shin Se-kyung is receiving positive feedback for her acting prowess in “Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me.”

The Wednesday and Thursday TV drama kicked off on Dec. 6, and boasts a 9.1 percent viewership rate, according to Nielsen Korea.

Shin’s role, the orphaned Jung Hae-ra, has a straightforward manner of speech that is both cheeky and easy for viewers to empathize with.

Previously the heiress to a wealthy family and now a travel agency employee laboring to make ends meet, Jung bears her poverty and unfortunate twist in fate and still manages to keep her heads up to strive for her goals.

Kim Rae-won plays male lead Suho, who shares childhood memories with Jung.
