Singer Hwang Chi-yeul took up a challenge of cooking curry and rice and a rolled omelet with cheese in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Thursday.

“I had a happy year this year so I thought (it will be a good idea) if I cook in front of fans,” he said starting up the broadcast.

“I was thinking which dish I should cook to make a meal and then decided to cook curry and rice. I used to have it often when I was young,” he said. “I also prepared a rolled omelet with cheese as it is too plain if I cook curry and rice only.”

During the broadcast, the singer said he did not cook often. “I can make Kimchi stew and gochujang stew well but I don’t cook. I would rather practice to show you good performance,” he said.

Throughout cooking, he looked so clumsy that he could not even name the mushroom but after all he succeeded in making a decent dish.

“I thought it was rather a curry stew but the result speaks for itself. It’s very good,” a staff said who came out to taste Hwang’s food.

Seventeen thanked its fans with “healthy claps” in a video released on Naver’s V app Thursday.

During a press conference for the release of group’s new album “Teen, Age” held in November, the group promised to release a special clip using “clap” if they won on a music show. And on Thursday’s video, they kept that promise.

In the video, which parodied a segment from tvN’s old variety show “Roller Coaster,” the members of the boy band appears to introduce 10 ways of clapping which can help to improve one’s health.

The members appeared in the costume of “Specialized Videotape Technology Inc.” which they wore in their music video.

Seventeen released its second full-length album “Teen, Age” with its lead track “Clap” in November. The album enjoyed popularity at home and overseas, topping Billboard’s World Album chart.

Lee Min-hyuk of BTOB said he wanted to be an actor originally during a press conference for an upcoming web drama. “Unexpected Heroes” (literal translation) broadcast live via Naver’s V app Thursday.

In the drama, Lee plays a high school student who reads all women’s mind after receiving a heart transplant operation.

When asked why he chose to star on the drama, he said, “It was originally my dream to become an actor before I became a singer. So I majored in acting in college.”

“I’ve been having thirst for acting and I realized that though it is also an important element to practice alone and get lessons from teachers, actually it helps a lot to go out to the set. It becomes a huge asset,” he said.

“Unexpected Heroes” tells the story of three high school students, who used to be trouble makers, solve cases with superpowers which they gain after they receive transplant operations.

Alongside Lee, Choi Jong-hun of FT Island and former I.O.I member Kim So-hye star on the drama.
