iKon heralds January return, holds concert in Japan

Boy band iKon on Saturday offered treats for fans in Korea and Japan, confirming a January release of its new album while holding a Christmas concert in Yokohama, Japan.

At the “iKon Japan X’mas Live 2017” concert held at Yokohama Arena on Saturday -- the first of the two-day concert series -- the K-pop act excited the 15,000 fans in attendance with hit songs including “What‘s Wrong?” and “Sinosijak Remix.”

True to the holiday theme, the group also performed Christmas tunes. The band dressed in Santa outfits for the finale.

The group recently wrapped up its dome tour across Japan, totaling 313,000 admissions across in 24 concerts.

IKon also confirmed reports it would release a new album in January, although the format of the new record is not clear.

The seven-piece group made a splash in May by releasing its single “New Kids: Begin,” topping iTunes album charts in 13 countries.
