Kang Daniel of K-pop super rookie group Wanna One appeared on a billboard at Times Square in New York City.

The ad was put up by fans to celebrate the singer’s 22nd birthday, which falls on Sunday. The ad is to be on display for a week, until 3 p.m. on Monday. It shows photos and videos of the singer alongside a caption that reads, “Truly, Madly, Deeply Happy Birthday to Kang Daniel.”

The Embassy of the United States in Seoul also shared the news of the K-pop star's birthday celebration on its Twitter on Wednesday.

Earlier on Nov. 14, Chinese fans of Wanna One paid for an ad on the building to celebrate the group’s 100-day anniversary.

More celebrations of the star’s birthday are to include ads at subway stations in Seoul and Busan and the formation of “Kang Daniel Road,” at Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, for three days.

Kang’s Wanna One has swept rookie of the year awards at recent year-end awards ceremonies, including the Mnet Asian Music Awards and Melon Music Awards.
