Super Junior appeared Monday on a home shopping show to fulfill a pledge due to sales of the group’s latest album, “Play.”

During a recent press conference for “Play,” Eunhyuk made an impromptu promise that he and the band would sell black suits on a home shopping channel if they reached the sales goal of 200,000 copies of the album.

“We actually wondered whether we really need to do this, but we had no choice as we sold over 200,000 copies -- though it doesn’t mean that we did not want to do this,” Shindong said.

Instead of black suits, however, the group appeared on the show to sell long padded winter jackets.

When asked why, Heechul said, “Of course suits are great, but if you only wear black suits it is difficult to get through winter. To keep your winter warm (we decided to sell the jackets).”

“We promised to sell black suits because the title of our lead track is ‘Black Suit.’ But as we also have female fans, we were suggested padded jackets, which everyone can wear regardless of age or sex,” Leeteuk said.

The group not only hosted the show, but modeled the jackets and directly received customers via phone.

The jackets all sold out before the show’s conclusion.
