A dispute between Super Junior’s Kangin and his former girlfriend prompted an employee at a bar to call police following Kangin’s alleged physical assault, local media reported Friday.

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, officers were called to the bar in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, at 4:30 a.m. Friday.

His ex-girlfriend was working at the bar where the incident occurred. As the victim was serving other men, Kangin reportedly suddenly entered the room and assaulted the victim.

Witnesses said Kangin hit her three times to the head. Following his assault, the two fought for another five to 10 minutes before the bar employee called police.

Upon arriving at the scene, police investigated the allegations over Kangin’s assault. The victim, however, did not want to press charges.

Because assault cases can only be processed at the victim‘s request, Kangin was arrested for only public drunkenness.

Kangin was arrested twice in 2009 for drinking and driving. The court ordered him to pay a hefty fine both times.
