B1A4’s Gongchan has apologized for his recent remarks regarding fans and VIXX member Hongbin’s bank account on Twitter.

On Sunday, while talking to his close friend Hongbin of VIXX, Gongchan wrote on Twitter, “Fans want your bank account number. Try putting it on here for 0.5 seconds. Let’s leave fans (to) decide our travel and hotels here.”

His words caused a stir on social media. After netizens criticized Gongchan for his alleged intention to use fans’ money for his travel expenses, the B1A4 member deleted the post and issued an apology letter later on Sunday.

He wrote, “I was talking to Hongbin, my close friend, about traveling together, and he asked for my bankbook and a card. When I jokingly replied that we should use Hongbin’s card for the travel expenses, I saw comments from fans asking for Hongbin’s bank account so they could decide for us.”

“I fully understand that my words could have been misunderstood. Some might have thought that the post was about using fans for our travel expenses. In fact, I asked Hongbin to reveal his bank account so fans can decide on our travel location and where to stay,” he added.
