Homegrown comedy film "The Bros" has surpassed 1 million in the number of tickets sold, its distributor said Friday.

The movie starring Ma Dong-seok and Lee Dong-hwi hit the milestone at 2 p.m., on the ninth day of its run, according to Megabox M Plus.

The film, adapted from an original Korean theater musical, revolves around a penniless history teacher and his younger brother who is a promising executive at an architectural firm. They are reunited in their hometown for the first time in three years for their father's funeral and hit a woman with a car by accident.
