Boy band Super Junior tried to pick up on the latest trends among K-pop idols on the latest episode of MBC Every1’s variety show “Weekly Idol,” which aired Wednesday.

Jeong Hyeong-don and Defconn, who host the show, said at the beginning of the episode that the 12-year-old group needs to learn about the recent trends of today’s K-pop groups.

They said recent top idols have been spotted blowing bubbles, wearing floral coronets, holding plush dolls and acting cute.

On the show, the Super Junior members had to greet fans in a new way. They wore flower coronets, held a huge teddy bear, went under bubbles blown by Jeong and Defconn and showed cute gestures.

They expressed strong dislike for their mission but ultimately succeeded in carrying out the embarrassing greetings. After all the members had finished, Jeong teased them by saying, “You were the first idols to greet in this way!”

Super Junior released its eighth full-length album “Play” on Monday. The new album marked the group’s return in two years since the release of its 10th-anniversary album “Devil” and its reissue of “Magic.”
