Lee Seung-hoon of Winner revealed the backstory to the car commercial prank in tvN’s variety show “Youth Over Flowers” in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Thursday.

Tuesday’s tvN show featured the Winner members getting “kidnapped” by the production team while filming a car commercial which later turned out to be fake and just a part of the kidnapping plan.

The “kidnapping” of celebrities has been a ritual for the members appearing on “Youth Over Flowers.” The cast get snatched by the production staff and sent on a trip without preparation.

During the V app broadcast Thursday, a fan asked Lee how the Winner members felt when they watched their exaggerated acting for the commercial knowing it would turn out to be a prank.

“We felt so embarrassed that we felt like our fingers and toes got curled up and our ears got folded,” he said.

“We indeed wondered how they would show the commercial part. We expected them (the production team) to edit the clips like a real commercial -- cool and short -- but they broke such expectation into pieces.”

“But we also enjoyed watching the scenes. We rolled on the floor laughing,” he said.

When asked about the feeling to face Na Young-seok, the producer of the show who heralded that everything indeed was a prank, he said, “Well, I wasn’t sure whether it was really him when I first saw him.”

“He looks like a typical type of person who works at a broadcasting station, right? So I thought ‘oh he is also a producer.’ But then I saw (Song) Min-ho startled and realized that it was him.”

“It was shocking rather than good to see him,” he said. “Imagine that you were told that you would have only seven classes on a day but then suddenly your teacher says you are going to have supplementary lessons for seven days and six nights.”
