Apink’s Namjoo’s first work in play will be the role of Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet,” to open on Nov. 25 at Seoul’s Daehangno Arts Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Directed by Kim Hyun-hee, the play is a modern reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s original work. Namjoo will show acrobatic dancing, and roll out the stories of the younger generation who are hurt and sacrificed by the problems of the older generation, and how the rift is reconciled through communication and change.

Namjoo’s first acting was in the web drama “Detective Alice” in 2015. She played the lead in “Mischievous Detectives” in September.

Doublecast as Juliet is actress Moon Ga-young, who debuted in 2005 as a child. Moon has acted in TV dramas “Jealousy Incarnate” and “Live Up To Your Name.”

Actor Lee Hae-woo and rising rookie Kwon Bang-hyuk have been doublecast as Romeo.

The play runs through Dec. 3. All seats are priced at 30,000 won ($27).
