Suho of boy band EXO will star in an upcoming film “Middle School Girl A” (unofficial translation) alongside actress Kim Hwan-hee.

A local media outlet reported Wednesday that the singer confirmed to play a role in the film. The production team recently held a rite to pray for the successful production of the film and is preparing to start filming.

The film, based on a webtoon of the same name, tells the story of video game addict middle school girl Jang Mi-rae who starts to face the world. It deals with many social issues including bullying, domestic violence, game addiction and misogyny through the life of Jang.

Kim, who rose to face in the 2016 mystery film “The Wailing,” will play the role of Jang, according to reports.

Suho made his big screen debut with the 2016 drama “One Way Trip.”
