The first-ever concert for Red Velvet was an emotional moment for the K-pop act.

“If felt strange, since five of us had dreamed about it for so long. I cried a lot. Plus I’ve heard that it was originally supposed to be a two-day concert, but was extended (to three days). I felt so good and thankful to the fans,” said member Yeri at a press conference held Sunday before the concert.

The group’s concert at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul started Saturday and will continue until Monday.

“I teared up during the first concert. Seeing the arena empty at rehearsal and seeing it jam-packed during our performance really moved me,” said Joy. “I thought of the hardest moments and happiest moments that we’ve been through since our trainee years.”

Red Velvet debuted with the 2014 single “Happiness.” In July, it released EP “The Red Summer” which performed strong at local and domestic charts.
