[V Report] GFriend celebrates Yerin and Umji’s birthday

K-pop group GFriend took to Naver’s V app for a surprise broadcast.

SinB opened the broadcast, saying, “Today is a special day. Guess what day it is today.”

Her GFriend bandmates then broke into “Happy Birthday” for Yerin and Umji. The two birthday ladies could be seen surrounded by presents from fans.

Umji showed off her birthday cake, which was decorated with a miniature sugar doll of herself.

Among the presents was a box of fortune cookies. Each member of GFriend took one from the box and opened it. The fortune cookies contained handwritten messages from fans.

“Preparing these fortune cookies must have taken a lot of effort. It even tastes good. Thanks a lot for this present,” said Yerin.

GFriend ended the broadcast by wishing a happy birthday to the two bandmates once more.

Astro’s Cha Eun-woo

Cha Eun-woo of Astro aired a V broadcast from an airport Sunday.

“Wonder what I am up to? Astro will be performing at K-Con LA. So I am heading there,” said Cha.

Cha was excited for his trip, saying, “I am actually wearing a tropical-print shirt. Does it feel like a holiday yet?”

“I arrived at the airport quite early. So I bought this ice cream, and there was a picture of myself at the ice cream shop,” Cha added, holding an ice cream treat wrapper.

Cha wrapped up the broadcast as his flight time approached. Viewers wished him safe travels, and Cha said, “I will travel safely. See you all in LA.”

Yoo Yeon-seok

Actor Yoo Yeon-seok shared thoughts following his stage debut in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” via Naver’s V app.

Yoo stars in the musical as a transgender rock musician.

“I was so nervous about this first performance, but thanks to all the cheering from the audience, I could successfully complete it,” said Yoo.

He also described how happy he felt while on the stage.

“I will practice hard to get better -- so you can see the growth in my upcoming stage appearances,” said Yoo.

He finished the broadcast by crossing his thumb and index finger to form a heart shape a display his affection for viewers.
